Consortium Members/Partners

The CBPATSISP will work with the other national suicide prevention initiatives in the National Suicide Prevention Leadership and Support Program in various work streams when relevant. This includes Suicide Prevention Australia, University of Melbourne Centre for Mental Health, Everymind, and Black Dog Institute. A MOU is in place that formalises this relationship.

The Poche Centre for Indigenous Health, School of Indigenous Studies, University of Western Australia is the lead with consortium partners that include the national Healing Foundation, the Telethon Kids Institute, sub-contractors, Health Infonet and the Menzies School of Public Health Research. Following are their specific roles:

Role:

Supporting community organisations in the development of suicide prevention activity tailored to specific community needs;
Building the capacities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to take action in response to suicide and self-harm

Providing evidence based information and advice

Role:

To provide appropriate services commensurate with the expertise and capacity of the Menzies School of Health Research as commissioned by the Centre of Best Practice in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention.

Hosting an Indigenous suicide best practice clearinghouse/website to help support PHNs and community organisations in the development of suicide prevention activity tailored to specific community needs.

Special Advisor: To advise on managing government relations/ cultural governance and overall project integrity through the National Advisory Committee and as needed to CBPATSISP Management.
